The SUSTAINET-Advance project “Advancing resilient and sustainable connectivity for enterprises, communication, and energy networks” aims to improve the sustainability of 6G networks from the radio access network to the core network through neuromorphic data processing and optical networks. It focuses on the interdependence of energy and communication networks, improving resilience and efficiency through advanced monitoring and scalable connectivity, while ensuring security through trusted artificial intelligence (AI) and zero-trust frameworks.

In order to increase the flexibility and robustness of optical networks, the inclusion of wireless connectivity is currently being widely discussed. Wireless technologies can be used to quickly restore networks in the event of natural disasters, but also to rapidly upgrade fiber optic infrastructure in urban environments without having to lay new fiber optic cables.

  • Development, processing, and characterization of broadband receiving and transmitting MMICs from 250 to 330 GHz
  • Integration of MMICs in receiver and transmitter modules
