Fraunhofer IAF Diversity Days 2025

From October 13 to 17, 2025, Fraunhofer invited its employees to a diversity theme week featuring exciting online lectures and workshops that show how we make diversity visible at Fraunhofer and shape it together. At the same time, we celebrated Diversity Days at Fraunhofer IAF.

For us at Fraunhofer IAF, diversity is a central part of our research and work culture. We are committed to creating an environment in which every person—regardless of origin, gender, or age—feels seen, respected, and recognized. With our Diversity Days, we want to make diversity visible in society and at Fraunhofer IAF, raise awareness of different perspectives, and promote respectful, inclusive cooperation—because diverse teams have been proven to be more productive, creative, and content.

To draw more attention to diversity, we raised a flag in front of the institute building and set up an exhibition in our foyer. The poster exhibition highlights various aspects of diversity in general and in the workplace, such as gender diversity, gender equality, inclusion, generational diversity, and neurodiversity.

In addition, the new all-gender toilet at Fraunhofer IAF was officially inaugurated on Thursday to send a clear message: that all people, regardless of gender, identity, or expression, are welcome and respected here. That no one should feel uncomfortable or have to think about “which door is the right one.”
