6G TERAKOM — 6G Terahertz Communication

6G TERAKOM Logo

Communication networks, such as sixth-generation (6G) mobile communications, are a fundamental component of the critical infrastructure of modern societies. The resulting need to ensure secure and reliable operation requires research into the underlying key technologies.

Against this backdrop, researchers at Fraunhofer IAF are developing, manufacturing, and measuring highly integrated D-band transceiver MMICs based on the institute's high-performance 70 nm GaN technology GaN10-20 as part of this project.

The aim of the project is to integrate these MMICs with silicon germanium (SiGe) based circuits and antennas into a radio system module that demonstrates broadband data communication using innovative AI methods for beam steering.
