Girls' Day

We‘re in! The Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics will participate in the »Girls‘ Day« in 2019.

On March 28, 2019, we will open our doors to girls with an interest in the areas of mathematics, computer science, natural science and technology.

From the 8th grade onwards you can take part and are invited to get to know the work at the research institute Fraunhofer IAF and make your first contacts. In exciting hands-on activities, you will gain insights into applied research, familiarize yourself with the various technical and scientific occupational fields and have the opportunity to exchange ideas with successful female scientists about trainings and career paths.

At several stations you can get to know the research fields of the institute: For example, you can take a look in our clean room, where particularly sensitive electronics are produced, or in our diamond laboratories. Examples of golden microstructures and diamond layers will give you interesting insights into our research areas. With exciting demonstrations and hands-on experiments, the IAF staff will show you what applied physics and research is all about.

Join us, we’re looking forward to seeing you!
