mAgnes - Wide-band current sensor with high dynamics for energy efficient power switching

Today, current sensors are ubiquitous in automotive electronics, electric drives, server and telecom applications, lighting management, converters in solar and wind turbines and many other power electronic applications. They are a key component both for the control of safety-relevant applications as well as for energy conversion.

The key to coping with these increased demands placed on current sensors is a high bandwidth of at least 1 GHz, DC capability, high dynamics above 140 dB and a compact design. The project mAgnes aims at the development of such a high performance current sensor.
