Porous graphene-organic networks for super capacitors

Natural graphite (Hoffmann & Co Elektrokohle AG) is a rich resource for the production of graphene flakes.

G-ONET is investigating functional materials made from graphene flakes which have been cross-linked via organic chemistry. The intended use is as an electrode material in super capacitors, for example in electric cars. Their production is supposed to be cost-efficient and scalable while meeting green chemistry standards. The goal is to develop an electrode material which makes it possible to store large amounts of electric energy and at the same time allows for fast charge and discharge cycles.
